Abstract
During the month of October 2022, Swarnavahini, Aruna, Derana Aruna, Irida Mawbima, Dinamina, Dharani, Lankadeepa, Daily News and Ada published several articles on suicide, which contained the following ethical violations; describing the method of suicide, not publishing helplines, showing sensitive footage, publishing photographs of the victims, disclosing method of suicide, publishing news with prominence and sensationalism. Hiru TV had published helplines which was commendable.
