Abstract
On January 30, 2024, the Ethics Eye team published two infographics featuring charts that compare the instances of the three most violated media ethics in 2023 and the three newspapers with the highest number of media ethics violations in 2023. These infographics showed that most violations involved reporting on suicide incidents, followed by the use of derogatory language and coverage of sexual crimes. Dinamina reported the highest number of violations in all three categories. Divaina and Aruna ranked second and third, respectively, in the suicide category. Lankadeepa and Divaina held the second and third positions for derogatory language violations, while Lankadeepa and Aruna ranked second and third for coverage of sexual crimes.
