Abstract

During the month of November 2019, Mawbima, Lankadeepa, Aruna, Sunday Divaina, Dinamina, Divaina, Thinakkural and Ceylon Today published news related presidential elections (i.e. Reporting that there are RAW spies behind Sajith and Gotabaya, misquoting statements made by MP Sumanthiran, reporting that NGOs received money for the election) which contained following ethical violations: used misleading headlines and news contents, reported news without reliable sources and biased in reporting which is a violation of media ethical guidelines.
