Abstract
During the month of October 2019, articles published in Mawbima, Sunday Divaina, Aruna, Resa and Divaina contained following ethical violations: used misleading headlines and misrepresentation of facts, reported news without reliable sources and biased in reporting, Ceylon Today and Mawbima (23 October 2019) also published misleading photos when reporting verdict in the case filed by Lasantha Wickramasinghe’s daughter against Gotabaya Rajapaksa in the US court.
This entry also includes an infographic how the newspapers (i.e. Lankadeepa, Divaina, Resa, Dinamina, Mawbima and Ada) reported on the hearing of the citizenship petition against Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
