    Abstract
In the month of December 2021, an article published in Lankadeepa Online used a misleading and misinforming headline when reporting on HIV/AIDS, which misinforms the reader that HIV/AIDS is only transmitted sexually, discriminates HIV/AIDS people and subjects them to social stigma.
