Abstract

In October 2020, Sinhala press including Aruna, Mawbima, Dinamina, Divaina, Lankadeepa and Ada reported on suicide violating certain media ethics. These violations included, not publishing helplines to prevent suicide, simplifying the incident and disclosing the method of suicide. Ethics Eye continued to take efforts to educate the public on ethical reporting of suicide via its platform also by showing examples from the International press.
