On 17 September 2024, Aruna newspaper reported an investigative report on women who use drugs using the derogatory term "මතට ලොල්වූ" (mathata lolvu) in its heading. However, in the content it used the appropriate term "මත් ද්රව්ය භාවිතා කරන" (drug users).
