Abstract
On July 08 and 10, 2024, Lankadeepa, and on July 09, 2024, Divaina, reported four news stories about drug dealers. The headlines used the derogatory term “Jawarama” (ජාවාරමා), which violates media ethical guidelines. However, within the content, the newspapers used the appropriate and ethical term “Jawaramkaru” (ජාවාරම්කරු).
