dc.description.abstract | From May 10 to May 12, 2023, Dinamina, Divaina, Mawbima, and Ada newspapers reported on an incident where a tuitionmaster has sexually assaulted 16 students in Kalutara. Dinamina, Divaina, and Mawbima used the derogatory term "Gura" (ගුරා) to refer to the tuition master in question, whereas Ada used the correct term "Guruwaraya" (ගුරුවරයා). It is advised that media should maintain the neutrality of their coverage rather than use terms that negatively highlight a specific profession. | en_US |
