On January 24 2024, Aruna and Lankadeepa newspapers reported on an incident involving a person stealing money from a masseuse's bank account. In their coverage, the masseuse was referred to as "ස්පා කෙල්ල (Spa Kella)" and "ස්පා කත (Spa Katha)" terms which may be considered disrespectful. In contrast, Dinamina and Ada newspapers used the more appropriate term "සම්බාහන සේවිකාව (Sambahana Sewikawa)". This post by Ethics Eye invites the audience to reflect on which terminology is more suitable and respectful when addressing a masseuse.en_US
