Abstract

This infographic shows how a suicide incident of a schoolgirl in Welipanna area was reported in the Sinhala newspapers published on July 15, 2024. Without following media ethical guidelines, Ada, Aruna and Dinamina have described the method of suicide and simplified the reason for suicide. Also, Aruna and Dinamina have not published helplines, but Ada has published.
