Abstract

On October 5 Mawbima and on October 6 Divaina and Dinamina violated the media ethical guideline of reporting inaccurate information and not getting information checked via reliable sources. Divaina has referred to the suspect as සරසවි සිසුවා (university student). Dinamina has used සරසවි සිසු වෙස් ගත් අයෙක් (disguised as a university student) while Mawbima has stated that it is not a university student. While Dinamina and Mawbima had got the information confirmed via university sources, Divaina had failed to do so.
