Abstract
During the months of October 2022, several articles published in Dinamina, Mawbima and Sunday Divaina contained the ethical violation of irrelevantly highlighting the physical appearance of women using terms such as "roomath" (රූමත්) and "suruupi" (සුරූපී). Also, the news items published on Sunday Divaina (16 October 2022) irrelevantly highlighted the ethnicity using the term 'Muslim' (මුස්ලිම්) and and Dinamina (06 October 2022) used the derogatory term 'Ganika' (ගණිකා).
