Abstract
In the month of August 2018, articles published in Mawbima, Divaina, Dinamina, Lankadeepa, Sunday Divaina and Ada contained misleading and sensational headlines, inaccurate information and reporting in a manner that may lead to communal disharmony which is a violation of media ethical guidelines. Meanwhile, Daily Mirror accurately reported (23 August 2018) the news of Rahul Gandhi’s statement regarding Prabhakaran’s death and complied with media ethical guidelines.
