Articles published on 23 February 2018, in Divaina, Mawbima, and Lankadeepa violated media ethical guidelines by publishing ‘Ms Amari Wijewardene, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to UK resigns’ which is incorrect. According to the press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “High Commissioner Wijewardene will conclude her contract on her own volition by 31 March 2018”. Complying with media ethical guidelines Lakbima reported the news accurately.
