Abstract

On 24 September 2019 an article published in Divaina, reported suicides without including suicide helplines while including method of suicide and also giving prominence to suicide in the heading which is a violation of media ethical guidelines. This also includes an inforgraphic which shows the ethical violations of Sinhala press (2017 and 2018) when reporting on suicide.
