Abstract

During the month of June 2019, several articles published in Lankadeepa, Mawbima, Divaina, and Sunday Lankadeepa contained ethical violations pertaining to gender discrimination; only highlighting women when both women and men have been arrested over an offence, stereotyping women and assigning more blame to women. The report published in Ada on 28 June 2019 did not mention gender, thus complied with media ethical guidelines.
