In the month of June 2019, articles published in Lankadeepa, Dinamina, Divaina, Mawbima and Silumina included derogatory terms such as "kuddo", “Cheena”, “dushanaya” and "keleseema" (කුඩ්ඩෝ, චීනා, දූෂණය, කෙළෙසීම,) and also highlighted ethnicity where irrelevant which violates media ethics.
