    Abstract
During the month of February 2022, articles published in Aruna, Lankadeepa, Divaina, Sunday Divaina, Mawbima, Hiru and Dinamina published several derogatory terms such as "gura", "mas wedda", "kudda", and "ganikawa", which are disrespectful terms to describe people that leads to discriminating individuals in society and stereotyping.
