Abstract

During the month of February 2022, tv and print media largely reported on the attack on journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrema's house. Notably, Swarnavahini prime time news did not report the attack in the following days while Sirasa, Hiru, Derana, Rupavahini and ITN reported it in their prime time news telecasts. While Lankadeepa, Divaina, Aruna, Ada, Dinamina and Mawbima reported the attack as the lead news on their front pages the after the attacks, Aruna reported it only as a minor story on front page.
