Abstract

During the month of January 2022, several articles published in Lankadeepa (11-01-2022) and Mawbima used the term "sudda" which is a derogatory term used to describe foreigners that leads to discrimination of foreigners based on skin colour. Meanwhile, Divaina, Dinamina, Ada, Aruna (21-01-2022) and Lankadeepa (21-01-2022) reported ethically by using the appropriate term "wideshikaya" to describe foreigners.
