    Abstract
During the months of December 2021 and January 2022, several articles published in Mawbima, Divaina, Lankadeepa and Aruna described the physical appearance of women in different contexts as “ruumath”, “suruupi” as well as based on their skin colour where irrelevant, which leads to discrimination and stereotypes.
