In the month of January 2022, an article published on the front page of Daily Mirror (24-01-2022) mischaracterised a speech made by Sajith Premadasa, which was later clarified by Sajith Premadasa. The article which contained the clarification (25-01-2022) was not published on the front page and therefore was not given the same prominence as the wrong article before and did not contain an apology
