During the months December 2021 and of January 2022,Silumina (09-01-2022), Derana (22-12-2021), Aruna, Lankadeepa, Divaina, Dinamina (24-12-2021), The Island (23-12-2021), Silumina, Sunday Aruna, Sunday Mawbima and Sunday Lankadeepa (26-12-2021) violated the ethical violation of revealing the identity of minors in a way that threatens the safety of minor witnesses in crimes and disrupts minors' school life. Meanwhile, ITN, Swarnavahini, Sirasa (22-12-2021), Dinamina, Lankadeepa, Divaina, Mawbima, Aruna, Ceylon Today, Daily News, Daily Mirror, Ada (23-12-2021) complied with the media ethics guidelines on reporting on minors by not revealing their identities.
