    Abstract
    In the month of December 2021, ITN, Sirasa, Swarnavahini, Derana, Daily News, Mawbima, Aruna, Divaina, Dinamina, Hiru, Rupavahini, The Island, The Morning, Lankadeepa, Ceylon Today, Daily Mirror and Ada covered the news on a Sri Lankan being lynched in Pakistan. Out of them, ITN, Sirasa, Swarnavahini, Derana, Daily News, Mawbima, Aruna and Divaina violated media ethics guidelines by publishing video footages and images of sensitive nature of the incident, whereas Dinamina, Hiru, Rupavahini, The Island, The Morning, Lankadeepa, Ceylon Today, Daily Mirror and Ada did not publish any sensitive or graphic content relating to the incident
