In the month of November 2021, two articles published in Lankadeepa Online and Divaina used the term "Bangaliya" (බංගලියා) which negatively describes a Bangladeshi national, which thus is a derogatory term. In the meantime, Aruna published an article on the same news which ethically described the Bangladeshi national involved.
