Abstract
On 26 March 2020, ITN's 09.30 pm news ran a segment on the presidential pardon granted to Sunil Rathnayake. In this segment, Rathnayake's arrest and sentence was described as being part of the alleged 'Ranaviru Dadayama' done to appease the Tamil diaspora.
