Abstract

Article 157 of the Constitution of Sri Lanka allows certain international agreements and treaties to become law. The resolution on the agreement between Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), passed by Parliament on 9 September 2025, is an example of the use of Article 157.
