dc.description.abstractOn 11 August 2024, Aruna newspaper published a report on suicide that included several ethical violations: oversimplifying the cause of suicide, disclosing the method used, not publishing helpline information, publishing multiple photographs of the victim, sensationalising the news, and referring to the victim as "රුවැත්තිය" (Ruweththiya) and "හැඩකාරිය" (Hedakariya).
