This entry includes an infographic and a write-up in Sinhala.
On 31 July 2024, Lankadeepa and Dinamina reported that a police constable attended a liquor party at the home of a local drug dealer and allegedly assaulted another person while on duty at the North Central Inter-Provincial Sports Festival. Both newspapers, in their headlines and in Lankadeepa’s content, referred to the alleged drug dealer as "ජාවාරමා" (Jawarama). This usage violates media ethics.
