This correspondence from P.B. Jayasundara, Secretary to the President, informs W.D. Lakshman, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, to request the Central Bank to provide leadership and support to the banking system, finance, and leasing companies to meet the emerging needs of customers and distressed businesses. It also asks the Central Bank to provide confidence among depositors and clients. The letter also requests the implementation of cabinet decisions and initiatives to protect “borrowed reserves” and assure investors in sovereign bonds and government securities.
