On July 18, 2024, Dinamina and Aruna newspapers reported the suicide of a nurse working at a hospital in Colombo. Both reports omitted helplines and described the reason and method of suicide in detail, and included a photograph of the deceased which clearly violates media ethical guidelines. Dinamina also gave the story undue prominence. Media is advised to avoid such reporting, especially on sensitive incidents, as it may contribute to further suicides.en_US
