On December 21 2023, Dinamina newspaper published an article on the issuance of separate driver’s licenses for individuals with disabilities. The article used the term "ආබාධිතයන්ට (Abadhithayanta)", which is considered discriminatory towards individuals with disabilities. To promote respectful and inclusive language, it is recommended to use person-first terminology, such as "ආබාධ සහිත (Abadha Sahitha)", when referring to individuals with disabilities. In contrast, Mawbima newspaper adhered to this standard, using appropriate language in its reporting on the same incident.en_US
