Britain's Channel 4 released a documentary alleging that they had more information about the Easter Sunday attacks that took place in 2019. On 04 September 2023, this was how the local TV channels covered the news, prior to the documentary being released. ITN framed their headlines to indicate that Channel 4 was attempting to carry out a political conspiracy. Ada Derana highlighted a fear that the Channel 4 documentary was going to contain information that might be controversial, and questioned whether this was being done for political gain. Siyatha, Sirasa and Hiru framed their headlines to indicate that the Channel 4 documentary was expected to contain very controversial content. However, Rupavahini and Swarnawahini did not report this.en_US
