This document represents Verité Research's final formatted report concerning the Sri Lankan government's advancements in meeting the obligations related to reconciliation and accountability outlined in UNHRC Resolution 30/1. During the 51st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) held in September and October of 2022, Resolution 51/1 was officially adopted. The Sri Lankan government, however, opted to reject this resolution. The vote on Resolution A/HRC/51/L.1 pertaining to Sri Lanka took place on October 6, 2022.
Subsequently, the 52nd session of the UNHRC commenced on February 27, 2023. Nonetheless, the comprehensive update on Sri Lanka's progress will be presented during the 53rd session, scheduled for June 2023.This report assesses the extent to which the government has fulfilled all 36 commitments outlined in UNHRC Resolution 30/1, spanning from March 2022 to February 2023.
