Abstract

On 18 November 2018, Sunday Times published an article headlined, 'Angry Sirisena breaks the pillars of democracy', which begins with an extracti from the book ‘Janadhipathi Thaththa = ජනාධිපති තාත්තා’. The writer claims that this quote was taken from a post that was widely shared on social media. However, the problem is that this information is not mentioned anywhere in the book. It is an article published without checking the sources which shows the irresponsibility of the writer and the newspaper.
