dc.description.abstract | In the month of October 2018, articles published in Dinamina, Divaina, Mawbima, Lankadeepa, and Lakbima included derogatory terms such as “kudda” (කුඩ්ඩා), “kuddita” (කුඩ්ඩිට), “kuddi” (කුඩ්ඩි) "dooshanaya" (දූෂණය), “kelesu” (කෙළෙසූ), “kelesa” (කෙළෙසා), “kelesala” (කෙළෙසලා), "cheena" (චීනා), “suddi” (සුද්දිගේ), “gura” (ගුරා) and “ganika” (ගණිකා) which violates media ethics. Meanwhile, on 15 October 2018, Mawbima used the term “Cheena magiya” (චීන මගියා) to refer to a Chinese passenger in accordance with media ethical guidelines. | en_US |
