Abstract
In the month of January 2018, articles published in Sunday Lankadeepa, Dinamina, Divaina, Lakbima, Rivira, Mawbima, Ada, Ceylon Today and Daily News contained misleading headlines and inaccurate reports about the statement relating to visiting UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and the imprisonment of D.K.P. Dasanayake, news reports about a robbery at a private cigarette agency in Nuwera Eliya, the profits of the Perpetual Treasuries company, and the protest at Katharagama, and statement made by Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, State Minister of Finance which is a violation of media ethics.
