Abstract

In the month of May 2022, Rupavahini and ITN reported on Johnston Fernando being summoned to the CID over May 9 violence. Even though ITN reported on both Fernando's arrival at CID and the protesters who protested in front of the CID, demanding his arrest. Meanwhile, Rupavahini only reported one side of the story as it only reported that Fernando arrived at the CID. For a more balanced reportage, Rupavahini could have featured both aspects of the story.
