Abstract

During the month of September 2019, articles published in Mawbima, Sunday Divaina, Lankadeepa contained following ethical violations: used misleading headlines, reported news without reliable sources, biased in reporting and published images that are not relevant to the news. Ceylon Today (03 September 2019), meanwhile, did not publish any irrelevant pictures and adhered to ethical guidelines. This entry also includes an infographic which compares the media coverage on the court order regarding the cremation of Ven. Medhalankarakiththi, chief incumbent of Nayaru Gurukanda temple.
