    Abstract
In the month of July 2019, Divaina, Mawbima, Lankadeepa, Ada and Dinamina, which reported suicides contained several ethical violations such as including method of suicide, giving prominence to suicide in the heading, not including suicide helplines, and not using a person-first language to describe persons with disabilities. Derogatory terms such as “aabadhitha - ආබාධිත” (Mawbima), “manda manasika - මන්ද මානසික” (Dinamina) have been used in the reportage.
