On 29 March 2022, Hiru, Swarnavahini, Sirasa, Derana, and Rupavahini reported on the surgeries halted at the Peradeniya General Hospital in their prime time news, while ITN did not report it in the prime time news. ITN hence did not engage in balanced reporting as it failed to report on an issue that is of national importance.
