    Abstract
During the month of February 2022, Mawbima, Sunday Divaina, Virakersari and Thinakaran published several articles, which contained the ethical violation irrelevantly and negatively highlighting the ethnicity of persons. The Sunday Divaina article reported on the Muhudu Maha Viharaya, claiming that Muslims are gradually occupying the surrounding lands, which has been written with a bias as it does not include any statements from Muslims in the area regarding the issue, and blames that particular community. In the meantime, articles published in Ceylon Today and Lankadeepa Online did not highlight the ethnicity of individuals involved in different incidents.
