Abstract
During the months of December 2021 and January 2022, Derana, Hiru, Sirasa, Divaina, Aruna, Mawbima, Daily News, Daily Mirror, Ada, The Island and Dinamina several articles published on suicide, which contained the following ethical violations; describing the method of suicide, not publishing helplines, using the inappropriate term "committed suicide", showing sensitive footage, revealing the identity of the victims and publishing suicide notes.
