Abstract
During the months of December 2021 and November 2021, Dinamina, Lankadeepa, Aruna, Divaina, Mawbima, Hiru, Ada, Silumina, Swarnavahini and Derana published several news on suicide, which contained the following ethical violations: not mentioning helplines along with news on suicide, publishing suicide-related news with prominence, explicitly describing the method of suicide, publishing photos and private details of victims of suicide, simplifying reasons for suicide and mentioning the method of suicide.
