Abstract

During the month of October Mawbima, Lankadeepa, Sunday Divaina and Dinamina published several articles which contained the ethical violations of using the derogatory terms "sudda", "sudu katha" and "cheena" which discriminate individuals based on their nationality and skin colour. Sunday Lankadeepa published an interview with a Sri Lankan actor where the actor has been discriminated based on his body size and used a headline which reinforces body-shaming.
