During the month of October 2021 Sunday Aruna, ITN, Sirasa, Swarnavahini, Rupavahini published several news which contained the ethical violation of bias reporting, whereby only the opinion of one party involved in an incident was presented. Sunday Aruna reported accusing that the Nobel Peace Prize winners were puppets of USA and used unreliable sources to back their claims. It held that Maria Ressa's (one of the two Prize winners) Rappler website was sponsored by Facebook. It engaged in bias reporting as it did not take her opinion as reported in mainstream international media into consideration when she accused Facebook of acting against her. In reporting the appointment of 'One Country One Law' Presidential Task Force, ITN, Sirasa, Swarnavahini and Rupavahini did not report opinions of those for and against the appointment, whereas Derana and Hiru telecasted the views of all parties, both for and against the task force, giving a full picture of the event.en_US
