Abstract

In the month of November 2020, some of the main news telecasts of TV channels such as Hiru, Swarnavahini, Rupavahini, ITN and Ada Derana reported news on covid19 and streamed videos that showed the cremation and the coffins that did not comply with the media guidelines issued by the ministry of health in the pandemic. Also, Lankadeepa had published an editorial with misleading news on the cremation of covid19 dead.
