Abstract
In the month of October 2020, Sinhala newspapers such as Divaina, Dinamina, Aruna, Mawbima, Lankadeepa reported news related to suicide. But they did not follow the ethical guidelines in such reporting. Publishing helplines of suicide prevention organisations, avoiding simplification of method or the reasons for suicide are the ethics violated by these newspaper in this period.
