Abstract
In the month of September 2020, Mawbima, Divaina, Daily Mirror, Aruna, Lankadeepa violated media ethics in reporting suicide by not mentioning helplines, simplifying the reason for suicide, disclosing the method of suicide and reporting the news with prominence. But in the meantime, Ceylon Today and The Morning had published the helplines in the suicide prevention day.
